The operas of duty will remember the scene of Ana Paula Arosio running through fields of tulips in Holland ... I do not even watching the novel was "bombarded" by comments from friends and family when they knew I would live here (the second most frequent topic if I was going to live on a houseboat!).
Well, spring came and the famous Keukenhof park opened its doors. And there I was, with no fewer than five different cameras and lenses in the backpack. Actually this is a must visit and is more special because they only be available for two months per year. This year, the park is open to 22/março 20/maio. If you can plan your visit to the Netherlands for this period.
The Keukenhof is the most visited park of flowers from the Netherlands, with about 700,000 visitors annually. The park is large and even on busy days you can ride there and be impressed with the number and beauty of flowers. About 7 million bulbs are planted annually. In addition to the tulips (which are wonderful and some huge) there are also other flowers.
The gardens are planted by different exhibitors and show that there are some "trends" in gardening. Moreover, there are some pavilions arranged, restaurants and souvenir shops.
Another must-see attraction is outside the park. The tulip fields are of indescribable beauty and color. The photos above show a small part. It is literally a "sea of tulips."
A good way to locate the nearest field, is rising in the mill which is located within the park. You can rent bicycles and ride some routes (ranging from 5km to 25km) to visit the camps.
There are several ways to get to Keukenhof using public transport. Departing from Amsterdam, the faster it seems to be taking the "Keukenhof-Express", a bus leaves the airport Schiphol and go straight to the park. The more the bus ticket to leave the park for 18 euros.
If you can not come this time of year, see the photos above or wait to see the replay of the novel "is worth seeing again."

I went to Keuenhof this year in April, and I assure you: is maravihoso. The amount of flowers is incredible ... Just a tip for those who are next year, a friend of mine was in early May and the flowers were already all cut. I think the best time to go is in the same opening of the park.

Marcio, I wonder if in late July and early August 28/08 to 02/08 is worth a visit to the tulip fields between Harlem and Leiden. I know - Kokenphof-is only open for two months in the spring - what a pity!. But still, I wonder how they are planting flowers at the time I go. Thank you and congratulations for the photos. Are simplesmene maravilhiosas. Claudia (and Sylvio)

    Claudia,

A lot depends on the producer, I believe that you can see the tulips in greenhouses because it is the hottest time of year.

In the markets you can also find the tulips.

    A hug!

Reserve 1 whole day to walk there.

    Marcio

first like to thank you because it was through your site I knew this park and I could plan, since it would in Amsterdam between 18th and April 20th, 2008, to visit him.
First I would like to congratulate you for the photos and also say that I never saw more lovely place in the world, the park looks like a painting, never took so many pictures in one place, plus the videos qe had to do since I have so much skill as photographer, laughs.
I would just encourage people to do the bike ride is fantássssssstico. You can make the ride even shorter 5km, already worth it, you'll pass through beautiful plantations, and movie scenarios.
    Apeans leave some tips:
-The bike ride costs 8.50 euros regardless of the size of the route (if you want to have helmets for rent 3.50). The "tent" for rent is located outside the park in the parking lot. Rest assured that if there is a country where cycling is safe, this country is the Netherlands. Note: Use the arrow when you bend .. laughs .. (Qd will understand you're there!)

    - Tickets to the entrance to the park and bus transportation can be purchased at the tourist office at the airport or at kiosks throughout the city (it has an in Leidseplein, over the bridge). Today it includes the path tb-Amsterdam-Amsterdam airport. The exit ticket in 2008 to 18 euros (entrance + shipping).

    I hope I have helped a little.

Once again congratulations for the site, and a big hug to everyone.
    Daniel Vilaça.

    Hello, Marcio!
I am planning to go to the park between the 6th and May 8th. As you've said here, it will be open until the 20th, but do these days there will be enough flowers, or run the risk of cut tulips this time of May?

    • Hi Sheila,

In the park will see many tulips and gardens designed so. It may be that on the way there to see some plantations have been harvested, but not all.

You can rest assured you will enjoy the beauty and the colorful tulips!

Oh, if you can go here later to tell how it went.
      Bjo!
