I made this post thinking of people who enjoy travel and love to show pictures to family and friends in the back.
Are 10 simple tips that can improve their images and help you get more compliments.
Hope that helps.
Hope that helps.
1 - Before you go, check the travel sites of each city's famous "What's on - there you find out if you will be in the city / destination on time for shooting one popular party, any celebration, a festival, etc .... These occasions are very photogenic. It is worth changing the schedule of travel to attend these events.

St. Patrick's day in Dublin
2 - Check the weather - here you can tell me that there is nothing to do because usually there is no way to change the script that is already determined. But it is often possible to exchange the visit of certain attractions between days in the same city. Change the day you would visit gardens, parks, towers and bridges for visiting museums and churches. Thus on the day that the weather is better you make the images "billboard."

Bristish Musuem in London

City Hall Vilnius - Lithuania
3 - If you like black and white photography and still has one of the cameras 'movie', also called analog, consider taking some movies PB. They are great to emphasize feelings and make the picture more dramatic. A tip here is to use movies PBs that are revealed in the process that C41 is the same as color film. This in addition to cheapen the game still makes you get the developed film and prints faster. There is also the option to convert some images to black and white in photoshop after the trip.
The homeless in Sao Paulo
4 - The point here goes for you as you travel or tour group. In this case search guide to the road map to know exactly the hours you have more freedom and that place will be at the moment. Thus it is possible to escape from that bunch of people wanting to be photographed with the statue or fountain in the background.

Changing of the Guard in Copenhagen
5 - Another tip for those in the group, but that also applies to those who really want a very good light. This may seem like I'm trying to end their vacation, but this is not my intention.
Shoot before breakfast. Sounds crazy, huh? But there are advantages in doing so. The most important is that the light is great as well in the early morning. The second is that the number of people is much smaller than the times "normal."

Dawn in the 12 Apostles - Australia
6 - Frequently, only one day is enough to quickly learn a city, a fair or participate in part of an event but to make the images just the way you want to light the way I planned it better, "sacrificing" a day to another destination less photogenic. Just enough time to wait for the best time of day to click without having to go away soon.

Sunset in Riga - Latvia
7 - Many cities have towers, bridges or mountains that allow shooting from above and form pan. To take full advantage of the view and set the photo figure out the direction of the light / sun and then decide the time of the visit to that point. Track the previous day where the sun is beating at different times of day, so you know exactly the best time to climb to that photo.

View of Delft - Netherlands
View of the Olympic Tower - Munich
8 - street market, flower market, floating market, etc ... Markets in general are great to shoot. All that involves is interesting, people who go shopping, sellers and goods. Take the colors of the roofs of the stalls, fruit, uniforms and clic on them.

Bar do Mané in Sao Paulo

Flower Market - Amsterdam
9 - Food is another interesting subject, pay attention to the dishes / different and the environment of the restaurants you visit and send a bullet.

Canapés of salmon roe
10 - This last tip is a summary of warnings. Come on!
Do not leave a battery or memory card to end your day trip - take more than a battery and more memory cards. The cards are becoming cheaper, it's worth having a spare.

Test your camera before you travel is always good. Not a good buy a camera before you travel, it is best to know the functions and limitations of it. Do not come to a discourse that will take the opportunity to read the manual on the plane that no glue! Okay go! Expected the trip to buy a new camera for a better price, then take the current camera just in case.
Protect your camera!
In places with very low temperature (below 0 º), the battery discharges very fast. In this case, whenever you give leave the camera inside the jacket protected from the cold, just take the time to click.
The protection should also be made if it is for the beach or to places with much dust. In this case, use one transparent plastic film that normally covers dishes that go to the refrigerator. Ah, leave the lens out of the "wrapping". Using cameras that change lens, a choice before you go and avoid to replace them in these places.
To close the tips. Not only in Brazil that has a roguish eye on your camera, then do not give silly:
- Always wear the strap across the neck and not just on the shoulder,
- Choose bags or backpacks without a huge symbol of Canon, Nikon ....
- At the time of eating do not leave the bag hanging on the chair on his back,
- Memory cards or films should always be with you, nothing to pack that will be dispatched.
- Choose bags or backpacks without a huge symbol of Canon, Nikon ....
- At the time of eating do not leave the bag hanging on the chair on his back,
- Memory cards or films should always be with you, nothing to pack that will be dispatched.
Ah! Before I forget, you can and should have the "toe heavy" and take thousands of photos on the trip, but it's time to select the best display. But when I get back next trip, will see friends and relatives fleeing when you get the album or notebook in hand wanting to show the photo.
Good clic!

Marcio,
Very nice tips!
I'm maturing the idea of doing an upgrade of my camera. I have a Canon S45's old war photos and doing very good. But I guess you can think about an S3 or S5. For an SLR takes time, besides being a camera with larger size.
Since you talked about food, I'll ask the same thing I asked for Arnold:
How to photograph food while maintaining the brightness and color of the same? You know that color advertising America?
Really wanted to take good pictures of meals served on airplanes.
Recently posted some photos in that passage which has reignited the desire.
Cheers
Do not know "why", but I already knew all the tips ...
(Being a wife of a photographer must have to do with it, right ... hahahahahaha)
About taking pictures in the morning: guess the pictures come out so much better, but so much better, q really worth the sacrifice. And look at that I'm a sleeper brand higher. But a trip is worth the sacrifice.
Marcio, great compilation of tips. Very good.

Bjo!
Great tips, Marcio! Not to mention the timeliness of the latter, since this evil super-mega-hyper-ultra-huge slide show has affected many people in the back from vacation ... LOL
Sera 'I'll remember it all on the next trip?
Nothing like being a professional, ne 'Marcio ... for you, all these details are steeped in day-to-day.
Your photos are divine!

The trick to wake up early is really great ... I tried a few shots at 6 am on a beach and were very beautiful, even considering that the photos are mine (Laughs).

The lens it is getting to be a problem that seems to give a 'cataract', ehhe ... gives a blurred spot in a photo. Terrible!
On the tip of ice cream places, ah, if I knew this before! I lost several nice pics in the Andes pq not understand the reason for my Fuji desperately turns off by itself! hahaha!
Adriane, may be dirt on the lens.
Take a look, pass that fine paper to clean the lens of the glasses without any product and see if it improves.

I die with shame to take pictures in places such as restaurants, etc ... I am always afraid someone is upset ...
Is that an exaggeration?
[] 'S
Chris,
Click on them! No shame!
Remember those tourists desperate to shoot everything and do what they do.
Especially if the plate is yours, no one has anything to do with it.
Bjo!
How nice these tips Marcio, thanks.
This shooting even in the morning eh otimo, js I verified it.
Kisses and everything nice
Marcio, I loved the tips! I usually always read about how to improve my photos, collect tips and gradually I experienced every one - and I have noticed that the ideal is to practice a lot! Over time, your eye gets trained to the best angle, the best light - is not it?
Márcio, with respect to tip # 10 ... now it's too late. I did everything you said to do. But okay, now I've learned the lesson and the next trip I'll follow your tips. Thanks!
Márcio, my brother is also a photographer (www.fotograma.com.br). Maybe you do not exchange a few figurines, is not it?
... Brigadão visit there by the blog.
Regards,
Ze.
I loved it! Marcio Ahhh, I have a photo IDENTICAL the British Museum.
That dome (or ceiling, do not know, I am not an architect, please correct itself) is a delight to photograph. And the photo "View of Delft" is WONDERFUL! I loved your photos, awe-inspiring. It was very useful, but now I have to travel again ...
I will bookmark your blog now
besos
Hi Marcio,
Thanks for the tips, this sensational ... I am a passionate amateur photographer for photographers and at least one trip, shot over 2000 photos ... I want to do, like Rodrigo, an upgrade of my camera for a professional digital ... What is your suggestion ?
Thanks in advance
Indication to switch the camera to Rodrigo, for Claudius and Adriane.
Semi-pro compact - Canon PowerShot G9, with RAW
Successor to the G7, the G9 has everything you need 12.1MP 1/1.7-inch sensor and a little more (to RAW). Also, do not call much attention.
That link (in English) you find all about it.

If you prefer a DSLR (those who change lenses) the tip is the brand new Canon EOS 40D has the best features of the 30D and 400D. One of the coolest things that
new Canon is that it is up to 6.5 frames per second, which is great for sports photography.
That link (in English) you find all about it.

I hope it helped!
Abs!
Carla,
I agree with you. As more and more time shooting photos, you get better.
'
One kiss!
Thanks Marcio, the tips ... Soh one question: Canon PowerShot G9 can change lenses tb?? I think that would be the perfect machine for me, because I am not professional, but I love taking pictures ...
An embrace and thank you ...
Marcio, great tips. I've been reading your blog because very soon I'll walk to Holland, and of course I end up in taking photos.
Hug.
Marcelo

Brazilian with an inferiority complex is so: Shows beautiful thing out and just when shit is Brazil
Magui not understand! I love Brazil tooth and nail to defend the country. I have many images of beautiful places in Brazil.
This business of speaking ill of the country is the same thing as talking about family. You can even speak ill one time or another, now others can never say anything of his family or his country.
When I started the blog was to show a little here in Amsterdam and Europe for the Brazilians.
I hope it has answered.
Bjo!
Great tips, Márcio. I've used some, even empirically.
Anything, a little of them here.

Sincerely.
VP
Marcio,
Great tips and great photos theirs.
I'll spend three days in Amsterdam in May/2008 (14-17). Although it is very cold at this time or is already milder temperature?
Thanks for the tips.
Abs,
Raimundo.
Raymond,
The temperature in May ranges 60-20 degrees, the more pro end of the warmest month.
It's always good to come with a heavy coat.
Embrace!
I love photographing, I am an amateur and I love the sunset and moonrise. My machine is very simple (Sony w-55 with 7.2 MP), but I have done some pretty pictures with it. I enjoyed (and liked) the tips to photograph the sunset. Already the moon encounter much difficulty because it is tiny. Can you help? Thank you.
Marcio,
I also love the tips! Qto the suggestions of machines, I LOVE taking pictures - that kind'm able to stay 15 minutes without moving, waiting for that exact moment the picture is nice, but I do not mess with these cameras switch lenses. Since I travel a lot, the best for me are those as small as possible, not have to carry much weight, or extra equipment. (However, some pictures come out until legal - for a complete amateur, which does not compare to the so-called "amateurs" of your blog). The problem I have is that these digital cameras automatic - my, it's a pretty simple even total amateur, Canon SD450, 5.0 mega pixels, zoom has a very crap, only increases the size 3x (5.8-17.4mm). Is there a "fairly good" (little better), small, with a greater zoom and use that card rechargeable battery (not batteries, which end in 15 mins! Out the weight of piles of batteries that need charging ... meaningless!)? Thank you, Denise
Denise,
After his explanation, I believe the Canon G9 is ideally suited to that demand. It is a compact camera with many features, lots of it.
It's small, fits in a pocket and the quality is great.
Give a researched! One kiss!
Marcio
Hi, Marcio! Thanks for the tips! But I must ask you a question: I was poking the link for the Canon G9 that you left your readers. I liked it! I think it is good to take pictures up close, right? All photos I post on my blog I shot with my 3 megapixel Mitsuca, deary. She's good, I can do well, but has left to be desired. I need a camera that takes good pictures up close, able to place photo at night without I need to guess where things are and whose firing time is fast, because that little light loading between shots is sad. This camera Canon g9 you indicated that meets my needs those? If so, I need to provide it now, to follow one of their tips, because I go to Europe in December. Thanks in advance for help! Bjo
I have one major flaw, where ever I travel I take pictures and then I'm totally sorry, and then comes another journey and I lose my chance again, this time with these tips will be different.
I loved it! You know what I was thinking about this the other day, after I saw Arnold (F & F) commenting on the pictures that are beautiful Emilia d + (Greece). There, you twit on time!
))
It will give time to take the tips to next trip!
Wow, "falls with a parachute" in his blog, and I loved it!! Great tips, beautiful pictures!! Congratulations!
I loved the tips, I found your blog by accident and loved it.
I'll put in my favorites.
Cheers
Hi Marcio,
First of all congratulations for the blog and liked very much your post, I mmmmmmuito improve my photos on a trip, the valuable tips you gave especially the tip about photographing in the morning. Of course I will give a basic retwitada.
Hug and Success!
Junior
Thanks! whether you need anything then screams!
Abs!
Very good tips from photographs in travel. It is worth remembering that every precaution is so little, since the more electronic we carry on our travels, we have more concerns.
Good pictures are taken spontaneously. International travel after a certain time, it is normal to disrupt the jet lag "photographic income." Use and abuse of good weather and their willingness to taking pictures wherever she goes.
Hi Márcio!
Glad to have discovered your blog, as well as being apixonada photography I'm planning a trip to Europe. I loved the tips and beautiful images that you post here.
About shooting the markets, I agree entirely. I live in Recife and am fascinated by the colors, shapes and characters from the public market here. Can not wait to meet and photograph the markets and fairs in Europe.
Cheers!
I loved the tips! I identify a lot with them!
is missing from the blog, is a trip for Portugal (or at least not found ...)!
