From today in The Orange Window'll know a little of the small and charming neighboring Luxembourg. Or the country's name translated literally is "The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg."
Let's get right to the largest and most important city - Luxembourg. City is cosmopolitan, receives people from all corners, is at the heart of Europe, hosts a large number of banks and bodies of the European Community.
Walking through its streets is easy to see the mixture of modern architecture with an average age of the walls. Another thing different is that in a city of 76,000 people you can not know the official language is not read before or ask around. It's easy to hear the Luxembourgish, French, German and Portuguese to the large number of Portuguese who migrated to the country. But apart from the Portuguese, the other three languages I mentioned are considered official.
Due to its strategic position, Luxembourg was, from the sixteenth century until 1867 when its walls were dismantled, one of the most protected / fortified in Europe. What remains of the fortifications is now a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The walls were reinforced repeatedly and passed into the hands of some important "owners". Until their partial demolition, the walls were an example of military architecture that lasted several centuries.
Walk the catwalks on these walls is the first tip for anyone going to Luxembourg City.
Oh, do not forget to charge the battery from the camera and take extra card because it is all very nice, well maintained and different.

I've spent more than once a close to Luxembourg, but never "got", always left for later. After these photos, I will surely include the list of places that I visit.
Once I did a little of the inside of the "Grand Duchy", and the interior is super cute, full of forests, beautiful landscapes, etc.. I heard that also has many castles! But I ended up not visiting any (yet)!
Thanks for the tip!
Big hug,
Rodrigo

Maira, I discovered that there exists within a large community of Portuguese living there. It is the fifth most spoken language in the country.

Who would not imagine that Luxembourg was so beautiful. Always heard it was boring, but nothing like a keen eye to destroy prejudices, no?
And another: did not know existed Luxembourgish (thought to speak French or Flemish ...). Window Orange is also culture!
